Betty’s Chili

This recipe comes from my mom’s mom (dunno where it came from before that or if it was original).

2 Tbsp Crisco or vegetable oil brown add simmer for up to a day!
1 lb ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onion
28 oz can tomatoes in juice
3 Tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp chili powder
3/4 tsp salt
small can red kidney beans, not drained

Note: An additional can of tomato puree, tomato juice, or tomato soup may be added if needed to increase quantity.
