Betty’s Chili
This recipe comes from my mom’s mom (dunno where it came from before that or if it was original).
| 2 Tbsp Crisco or vegetable oil | brown | add | simmer for up to a day! |
| 1 lb ground beef | |||
| 1/2 cup chopped onion | |||
| 28 oz can tomatoes in juice | |||
| 3 Tbsp brown sugar | |||
| 1 tsp chili powder | |||
| 3/4 tsp salt | |||
| small can red kidney beans, not drained | |||
Note: An additional can of tomato puree, tomato juice, or tomato soup may be added if needed to increase quantity.
